The “Recetas en su punto de sal” heart-healthy cooking workshops, featuring locally sourced produce and dietary advice, were a great success

More than 130 people have signed up for the four workshops

More than 130 people have signed up for one of the four 'Recipes with Just the Right Amount of Salt' workshops organised by the Lleida Institute for Biomedical Research (IRBLleida) and led by Serafín Cambray, a researcher and senior lecturer at the University of Lleida.

This is a heart-healthy cooking workshop aimed at improving the diet of vulnerable groups through the creation of suitable recipes using locally sourced produce, and forms part of the IRBLleidaDIVULGA 2025-2025 project funded by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) of the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

'I really enjoyed the workshop session; it felt far too short' or "I found the workshop dynamic and practical" are some of the comments from those who attended. "I would like the results of research that can positively impact our health to be made accessible to the public, as you have done in this workshop" is one of the requests we have received for the workshops to continue in a future edition.

The workshops are designed for people at risk of cardiovascular disease and/or with a family history of the condition. They included a talk providing information on the different groups of heart-healthy foods, recommended portion sizes and how to control salt intake in food.
