The Institute of Ilerdencs Studies hosts the act of delivery of grants for the promotion of health research

The Aula Magna of the Institute of Ilerdencs Studies (IEI) today hosted the delivery act of the grants for the promotion of research, promoted by the Diputació de Lleida, the territorial management of the ICS in Lleida and in Alt Pirineu i Aran, Health Services Management (GSS) and the Lleida Biomedical Research Institute (IRBLleida). The four institutions have joined with the aim of helping professionals who have completed specialized training, doctoral studies or those who are already working spend time on research.
16 researchers in total have received recognition and will be engaged in research in the field of hospital, primary care, IRBLleida and the Center for Experimental Biomedical Research Applied (CREBA).
The ceremony was chaired by Rosa Maria Perelló, president of the Diputació de Lleida; Jordi Cortada, territorial manager of ICS in Lleida, and Alt Pirineu i Aran and of Health Services Management, and Elvira Fernández, director of IRBLleida. On the other hand, Dídac Mauricio, director of the Endocrinology and Nutrition service of the Santa Creu and Sant Pau Hospital, sponsored the event.
The call for Health Research Promotion Aid includes this 2018 four different modalities. The first three, A, B and C, are co-financed by the Provincial Council, which provides 279,000 euros, the territorial managements of the ICS and GSS. Modality D, gifted with 88,000 euros, is funded by the ICS and GSS territorial management, with the collaboration of companies and entities such as Amgen, Novartis, Medtronic and Oncolliga.
Modality A of the grants is intended for professionals who have completed the specialization stage (of medicine, nursing, pediatrics and physiotherapy). Modality B has the purpose of incorporating professionals who finish the period of specialized MIR training in surgical specialties and who want to support the development of projects in experimental models of the CREBA. Modality C is for those PhD students in health sciences who are completing a pre-doctoral scholarship.
The research promotion contracts are 20,000 euros gross per year, compatible with other labor contracts within the healthcare network, as long as they are part-time contracts and / or guards contracts.
The D-type, which is awarded for the first time, aims to promote the search of a hospital and primary health care between professionals who are already working. The prizes, ranging from grants of € 5,000 to € 25,000, will be used to hire professionals who can carry out the welfare activity of the selected professionals so that they can dedicate themselves to research.
