IRBLleida organizes a photographic exhibition on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science

The Biomedical Research Institute of Lleida (IRBLleida) ─ with the occasion of the International Women's Day in Science, which took place yesterday, February 11th, has organized a photographic exhibition consisting of photographs of the professionals that make up the Institute. The exhibition can be seen on the first floor of Biomedicine I .
Women represent 61.3% of the professionals hired or assigned to the Institute (researchers who are part of the University of Lleida, primary care health centers, Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital or the University Hospital of Santa Maria).
IRBLleida is made up of 284 women, of which 241 are research staff and 43 are part of the management support staff or technical support staff. Of the total of 241 research professionals, 11 are leaders of research group, 83 are researchers, and 147 researchers in training (or doctoral students).
he International Day for Women and Girls in Science aims to promote full and equal participation of women and girls in education, training, employment and adoption processes of decisions in science, as well as eliminating all kinds of discrimination against women in the fields of education and employment, breaking the legal, economic, social and cultural barriers by means of policies and curricula in the field of science to promote greater participation of women and girls, and recognize their achievements.
