The Clinical Trials Unit at IRBLleida continues its work in research training for nursing students at the UdL

After the pilot project, initiated during 2015-2016, to show the students of the Faculty of Nursing and Physiotherapy of the University of Lleida (UDL) possible job opportunities in the field of clinical trials, the Unit Testing clinical Institute for Biomedical Research Foundation Dr. Pifarré (IRBLleida) continued during the year 2016 to 2017 as part of the internship's degree in nursing.
The unit offers, so pioneer in Lleida, the possibility that students know the different types of clinical trials, and adopt various roles: performing nursing procedures according to the protocol of each clinical trial (Study Nurse), data collection ( Data Manager), coordination and testing of the research team (Study Coordinator), among others. This initiative to provide practice in a field of research, the students have an overview of the development of a new drug and how it ends up being sold. At the same time, have the opportunity to make an exit alternative employment.
Between the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 school years, a dozen students from the 4th year nursing degree from the Faculty of Nursing and Physiotherapy of the University of Lleida has chosen the Clinical Trials Unit To do IRBLleida are part of their healthcare practices and know first hand the activities of the unit.
