Castellers de Lleida raises €7,000 in Movember charity auction for biomedical research
The proceeds will go towards biomedical research at IRBLleida
Castellers de Lleida, in collaboration with the Lleida Biomedical Research Institute (IRBLleida) and Mr. Postu de Lleida, have raised €7,000 at the charity moustache auction organised as part of the Movember movement. The proceeds will go towards IRBLleida's biomedical research into men's health.
The event, held on 28 November at the Castellers de Lleida premises, is part of the 'Movember' initiative, a global movement that uses the moustache as a symbol to raise awareness about men's health. This initiative demonstrates how creativity and solidarity can come together to support important causes such as cancer research and the promotion of men's health. Castellers de Lleida thus shows its commitment to this cause, reaffirming the values of mutual aid and solidarity that characterise them.
The auction awarded three prizes in different categories: prize for the best moustache, prize for the highest cumulative bidder, and prize for the person who bought the most expensive moustache. These special prizes were awarded thanks to the collaboration of several businesses and partners: Elèctrica Serosense, bonÀrea, Bodega Jordi, Distribuciones Valmor, La Gorgona, Dietètica Herbavona, Francho's Barber, Bar Roma, Carnisseria Ca la Pastora, Carnisseria Xarcuteria Lluïssa. Yogupet, Silvia Dolcet Estilista, Fruits de Ponent, Diputació de Lleida, Ajuntament de Lleida. In addition, each participating moustache received an I Love Burdeos postuxapa donated by Mr. Postu, who has been promoting the I Love Bigotes IRBLleida charity campaign since 2013.
