IRBLleida creates a new talent recruitment office thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities
An expert will be recruited to attract international research staff
The Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Lleida (IRBLleida) will create a new talent recruitment office thanks to a grant of more than €148,000 from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. This office, which will be physically incorporated into the IRBLleida's management office located in the Biomedicine I building, includes the hiring of an expert in international research recruitment.
'Thanks to this project we expect to increase by 10% the international talent at IRBLleida, which will create a more diverse and inclusive environment at the Institute and give the research groups more international dimension that can benefit them to create synergies with other groups,' explained Joaquin Bonelli, principal investigator and head of the IRBLleida's Projects Department. In addition, it will also allow IRBLleida to establish itself as a European and international benchmark.
The grant is part of the 2024 call for grants for the preparation and management of European projects and to facilitate the attraction of international talent to R&D institutions (GPE2024). The actions have to be developed from 2024 to 2027.
Within the framework of this project, the work team, made up of professionals from the projects, people and legal department, the technical secretariat and IRBLleida's communications department, will work to obtain funding from competitive public grants to develop the plan to attract international talent, as well as to develop specific integration programmes including cultural and linguistic aspects for international researchers, training in professional development opportunities and the implementation of a mentoring programme and a mobility programme for international researchers to join IRBLleida, among others.
