IRBLleida and Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Terres de Lleida sign an agreement to cooperate in research, innovation and knowledge transfer activities

The Biomedical Research Institute of Lleida Dr. Pifarré Foundation (IRBLleida) and the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Terres de Lleida (SJDTLL) have signed a collaboration agreement to cooperate in research, technological innovation and knowledge transfer activities. This agreement will also regulate the secondment of SJDTLL staff to IRBLleida.

Thanks to this agreement, the seconded Sant Joan de Déu staff will have the right to use the common facilities and services of IRBLleida, while the Institute will assume the management of activities related to research projects requested by SJDTLL staff, such as the conduct and management of clinical trials.

'We hope that this is the framework for the beginning of a major involvement of San Juan de Dios staff in research projects through IRBLleida,' said the director of IRBLleida, Diego Arango.

For his part, the manager of SJDTLL stressed that 'it is a great satisfaction to be under the shelter of IRBLleida and it is a very important step for a hospital as young as the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Terres de Lleida, which was created in 2017, and with this agreement the professionals of the entity can be and contribute to trials and projects along with the entire network of the health and social system and the university that is the same territory of Lleida'.
