For the first time, the Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Lleida (IRBLleida) is hosting an exhibition of puppets made by 16 artists with different skills in collaboration with the Fundació Ilersis. The exhibition, which can be seen until 15 January, is entitled 'Històries per construir' ('Stories to build').
The works have been produced by the theatre company La Màxima and are located in the Biomedicina I building, on the ground and first floors. The Fundació Ilersis mission is to contribute to the social and labour inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities, mental health problems or at risk of exclusion.
The work of constructing the puppets is based on the reuse of materials, rethinking them for a new artistic life and taking a further step towards sustainability and other sustainable development objectives in order to make them visible as active cultural agents in the community.
The exhibition can be seen during the IRBLleida's opening hours and visits open to the public have also been organised for Sunday 11 December at 11.00 a.m., Saturday 11 January at 11.00 a.m. and Thursday 16 January at 11.00 a.m.
