Twenty people attend Japanese martial art session to develop mobility and stability
On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, on 25 November, the Equality Committee of the Institute of Biomedical Research of Lleida (IRBLleida) organised a workshop on aikido, a Japanese martial art to develop mobility, stability, self-esteem, confidence, concentration and the channelling of aggression to avoid harming the opponent, among others.
Some twenty professionals from the Institute attended the session given by the Aikido Tenshin Lleida Club, in which they were able to practice different techniques.
The IRBLleida's Equality Commission aims to facilitate compliance with current legislation on equality and diversity management. Its functions include guaranteeing an egalitarian selection process and ensuring equal opportunities in the access, selection and permanence of staff, implementing measures for the prevention, detection and intervention in cases of sexual harassment and harassment based on sex and incorporating the gender perspective in the mission, vision and values of the organisation.
