The first map of clinical research in Lleida is presented to show the research activity of the different services

In conjunction with the inauguration of the permanent exhibition on clinical research in Lleida in the main corridor of the HUAV

The Territorial Directorate of Innovation, Research and Teaching and the Institute of Biomedical Research of Lleida (IRBLleida) have presented the first map of clinical research in Lleida, which has made visible the research activity of the clinical services of the Hospital. The analysis assesses a six-year period (2018-2023) using key indicators such as the number of scientific publications, competitive projects, clinical trials, directed doctoral theses and clinical practice guidelines.

It is an assessment of the situation of the care services in which services have been identified with a very prominent national and international research activity and others with an incipient research activity, to which it will be proposed to promote a cultural change through training and information actions to promote the integration of these professionals in the clinical research of the Hospital and IRBLleida.

Dr. Diego Arango, director of the IRBLleida, said at the presentation that 'this map provides a clear and detailed view of the current situation of clinical research at the HUAV, identifying both the areas of excellence and those that require more support. The information gathered will allow us to optimise resources and design specific strategies to strengthen research activity throughout the Hospital, with the ultimate aim of improving the quality of care and the well-being of patients.

Inauguration of the exhibition 'Avenida de la investigación'

The Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital of Lleida (HUAV) has also inaugurated a permanent exhibition entitled 'Avenue of research' consisting of 37 panels showing the different lines of biomedical and health sciences research led by Lleida professionals from the HUAV, the University Hospital of Santa Maria and the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRBLleida). The exhibition, which begins with the question 'Do you know that your team of health professionals combines their daily care work with research?', can be seen in the main corridor on the ground floor of the Hospital.

The exhibition consists of panels with photographs and texts explaining research projects in different groups and fields such as neurology, emergency medicine, paediatrics, ophthalmology, pathological anatomy, otorhinolaryngology, oncology, surgery, nursing, cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology and pneumology. In addition, each box contains a QR code through which anyone can leave their contact details if they are interested in any of the research projects on display.

Dr. Albert Lecube, territorial director of Innovation, Research and Teaching, inaugurated the exhibition today and stated that its aim is 'to publicise and highlight the research carried out in our region. But, above all, we want to convey to patients and their families that the healthcare work carried out at the Hospital is complemented by clinical research projects that seek to improve the quality of healthcare in Lleida. The patient is the cornerstone of this research, for a better understanding of the disease and its benefits'.

Both initiatives are the result of joint work between the Territorial Directorate of Innovation, Research and Teaching and *IRBLleida to help increase research activity, both in consolidated groups and in those with a more incipient activity.
