IRBLleida participates in ASPID's 'Living the occupation' project to connect people with disabilities with companies
To observe a work station 'in situ' at the Institute and see how it is developed
The Biomedical Research Institute of Lleida (IRBLleida) participates in the project "Living the occupation" of ASPID (Association of Paraplegics and Physically Disabled of Lleida) to connect people with disabilities with companies. This project offers different actions, among them, the job shadowing experience, which is to observe a job in situ in the company, to see how it is developed and what skills are necessary to access.
On Monday, July 22, an ASPID user, who is studying the cycle of Pathological Anatomy and Cytodiagnosis, made a stay at the Biobank performing laboratory technician tasks. It is an experiential experience, in which the person who occupies the place, explains its functions, the necessary competences for the place and the necessary requirements, to be able to develop the occupation of laboratory technician, action that will allow him to define himself professionally.
The Biobank is part of the CERCAGINYS program, a platform for access to the scientific and technical infrastructures of CERCA centers. The objective of the platform is to optimize resources and open the platforms to external users, with a special focus on industry.
