The Fundació Occident accompaniment programme to support the development of IRBLleida research projects is renewed

In this fourth edition, the programme will continue to offer assistance in the preparation of the research proposal, biostatistical and financial support and in the realisation of the data management plan

The Fundació Occident (Fundació Occident IRBLleida Programme), part of the Catalana Occident Group, and the Institute for Biomedical Research of Lleida Dr. Pifarré Foundation (IRBLleida) have renewed for the fourth year the programme to accompany scientific personnel in the preparation of health research projects. The accompaniment programme provides the necessary advice to research staff to present solid projects in all areas.

The programme is structured in 8 separate modules which aim to provide detailed support for all parts of the proposal, and researchers are free to participate in those modules in which they need specific support. These are the modules on project preparation, biostatistical support, financial support, data management plan, communication support and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), external peer review, claims preparation and project kick-off meeting.

The aim is to maximise the chances of success in the calls for proposals so that these professionals can obtain the necessary resources to continue their research. In the first years of the programme's operation, it has supported around 50 researchers, who have managed to improve their success rates in the presentation of research proposals. The support programme was created in 2019 as a result of an exhaustive analysis by IRBLleida of the results achieved.
