The Fundación Contigo against women's cancer grants a project in Lleida to identify new therapeutic options for uterine cancer
In the 1st Edition of the Contigo Esther Balletbó Scholarship 2023
The Fundación Contigo el cáncer de la mujer has awarded a grant to the project entitled 'Implication of ARID1A in the remodelling of the tumour microenvironment and metabolic reprogramming in endometrial cancer', by Núria Eritja Sanchez, lecturer at the University of Lleida and researcher in the Oncological Pathology group at the Institute of Biomedical Research of Lleida. The research, which will last three years, will identify new therapeutic options for uterine cancer.
This is the first edition of the Beca Contigo Esther Balletbó 2023, which aims to help emerging and/or consolidated researchers to continue their research at centres in Spain, to promote clinical and/or translational research in the field of women's cancer, and to promote the leadership of researchers who carry out their fundamental work in Spain. The Contigo Esther Balletbó 2023 grant is worth €80,000 for the best clinical and/or translational oncology research project.
"Our focus is on understanding how uterine cancer cells use factor secretion and their own metabolism to metastasise and, in doing so, we will be able to identify new therapeutic options," explained the researcher, Núria Eritja.
