Six first-year Baccalaureate students from Lleida receive grants from the IRBLleida for a stay at the centre
The grants programme has been designed to give young people the opportunity to come into contact with the world of biomedical research, with the aim of awakening and encouraging research vocations for the future
Six students from the first year of high school have been granted, once again, by the Institute of Biomedical Research of Lleida (IRBLleida) to make a training stay at the centre to learn about the biomedical research carried out in Lleida. The students will become familiar with the scientific environment and the techniques commonly used in basic biomedical research. They will also carry out directed experiments, learn about scientific methodology and the operation of high-tech equipment used in the different technical units of the IRBLleida.
The IRBLleida announces grants for high school students, with the collaboration of the Institute of Education Sciences of the University of Lleida (UdL). This is a grant programme aimed at first-year baccalaureate students in the field of Science and Technology, related to life sciences and health. The call is possible thanks to the collaboration of the "la Caixa" Foundation, through CaixaBank.
The six scholarship holders receive a grant of 200 euros. The training period (lasting one month) takes place at the IRBLleida facilities during the summer, on the dates agreed between the student and the research group. The research groups in which the programme is carried out are:
- Cell cycler
- GRECS
- Vascular and renal translational research group
- Developmental and Oncogenic Signaling
- Clinical neurosciences
- Pec Proteomics (+PPRG)
The activity is made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology of the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
Five of the six scholarship students made a welcome visit to the IRBLleida
