Success of the 2nd INspiracy Lleida conference to encourage interest in science among first-year secondary school students in Lleida

More than 130 first-year high school students from high schools in Lleida attended today the II INspiracy Lleida, a day to raise awareness of the research carried out in Lleida and to encourage the research spirit among first-year high school students in the Lleida area. Specifically, students from the following schools attended the event: Institució Lleida, Col-legi Claver, Col-legi Maristes Montserrat, Sant Jaume les Heures, Institut Escola del Treball, Institut Torre Vicens, Institut Almenar and Institut la Caparella. Four centres have also been connected online through the YouTube channel BCNspiracy: Institut la Mitjana de Lleida, Institut Ronda de Lleida, Institut Joan Solà de Torrefarrera and Institut de Seròs.
The figure of the Lleida scientist, Joan Oró, was the guiding thread of the day, which featured talks on biomedicine, biotechnology, agriculture, artificial intelligence and the future of research. In addition to research staff from Lleida, researchers from Barcelona, Madrid and Zaragoza presented their informative talks on science.
The conference took place in the Auditorium of the Centre for Cultures and Cross-Border Cooperation (Cappont Campus of the University of Lleida)
