IRBLleida joins the activities of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science with talks, workshops and a campaign to raise awareness on social networks
The Institute's Works Council organises a round table with professionals from the centre
Once again, on 11 February, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science is commemorated with a multitude of activities aimed at giving visibility to the work of women in STEM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). The Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Lleida (IRBLleida) joins this initiative to create female references for girls and promote practices that contribute to achieving gender equality in the scientific field.
Within this framework, the IRBLleida has organised different activities. On the one hand, today the researcher Marina Ribes Santolaria will give a talk at the Canigó Institute in Almacelles. Tomorrow, Friday 10 February, a round table organised by the Works Committee will take place at IRBLleida at 13.00 with researchers from the centre, and on Tuesday 14 February a visit has been organised for students from the Sol Ixent School in Corbins to meet female scientists. A campaign is also planned on social networks to raise the profile of historical and current women researchers.
The activity is possible thanks to the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology of the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
