IRBLleida Biobanc passes the ISO 9001 follow-up audit

The Biobank of the Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Lleida (IRBLleida) has carried out the annual monitoring of the ISO 9001 (International Standardization Organization, ISO) validating its quality management system. In 2021, the Biobanc renewed the ISO 9001 certificate with a validity of three years, until June 2024, and every year it carries out two internal and external monitoring audits.

IRBLleida Biobanc is the unit responsible for the management of samples and associated data destined for research. This management includes all the processes of receiving, processing, storing and making biological samples available to the scientific community, guaranteeing at all times the quality of the samples and their traceability in compliance with current legislation.

This action is part of the CERCAGINYS programme, a platform for access to the scientific and technical infrastructures of the 39 CERCA centres. The aim of the platform is to optimise resources and open the platforms to external users, with a special focus on industry. The programme aims to serve the national and international scientific and technological community, including the offer of essential services on a competitive open access basis for the use of CERCA System research staff, public and private sector, national and international. Likewise, CERCAGINYS will allow exploring the global contracting of joint maintenance services in advantageous or more competitive conditions.
