The first baccalaureate students awarded a scholarship by the IRBLleida begin their stay at the centre
This grant programme has been designed to give young people the opportunity to come into contact with the world of biomedical research, with the aim of awakening and encouraging research vocations for the future
The six first-year Baccalaureate students awarded a grant by the Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Lleida (IRBLleida) have begun their training stay to learn about biomedical research carried out in Lleida. The students are familiarising themselves with the scientific environment and the techniques commonly used in basic biomedical research. They will also carry out directed experiments, learn about scientific methodology and the operation of high-tech equipment used in the different technical units of the IRBLleida.
The IRBLleida announces grants for high school students, with the collaboration of the Institute of Education Sciences of the University of Lleida (UdL). This is a grant programme aimed at first-year baccalaureate students in the field of Science and Technology, related to life sciences and health. The call is possible thanks to the collaboration of the "la Caixa" Foundation, through CaixaBank.
The six scholarship holders receive a grant of 200 euros. The training period (lasting one month) will take place at the *IRBLleida facilities between 1 July and 30 August 2022, on dates to be agreed between the student and the research group. The research groups in which the programme is carried out are:
- Molecular Oncology
- Vascular and Renal Translational Research Group
- Pec Proteomics (+PPRG)
- Molecular Neurobiology of Development
- Obesity, Diabetes and Metabolism Research Group (ODIM)
- Biochemistry of oxidative stress
