Mamapop activates Fila Cero to raise funding for breast cancer at IRBLleida
The show can't take place for the second year running
Once again this year, Mamapop's Fila Zero is the formula to keep the solidarity of Lleida's citizens in the fight against breast cancer alive, contributing to the financing of research projects carried out by the Institute of Biomedical Research of Lleida (IRBLleida).
Collaborating companies and individuals such as CaixaBank, "la Caixa" Foundation, Inlingua, Asurbrok, Goumar, Sara Buira, El Intérprete Music School, the president of Adima, Digna Torres, the journalist Manel Tahull, Xènia Pérez, Rosa Expósito, Pol Simon and Manel Simon join their voices in the traditional Christmas carol, in Michael Bublé's version, White Christmas - Navidad Blanca - Blanca Navidad, which they perform in Catalan, Spanish and English. With the recording of this video clip, in which Jaume Sans and BOLSA RECUERDOS have also collaborated, they all want to encourage everyone to continue promoting donations, to maintain hope and to 'make a click in life', as the Mamapop slogan says.
The different editions and actions of Mamapop have raised more than 140,000 euros, all of which have been donated to IRBLleida's research and dissemination projects. IRBLleida is working on the detection of a series of markers in the blood, through a typology of proteins and genetic alterations, which allow the treatment of the most aggressive tumours to be individualised, improving each patient's response to the disease.
Fila Cero will be active throughout the Christmas period and Mamapop will take stock, after the festive season, to announce the total amount of contributions collected. Donations can be made through the "FILA-0" gateway of MAMAPOP-IRBLleida that you will find on the website.
MAMAPOP has already closed the date for the 2022 edition and will return to the stage of the Palau de la Llotja de Lleida during the last weekend of November 2022. It will do so with renewed enthusiasm and with the same stage surprises and musical magic as always. The concert-show is promoted by the Lleida-born Manel Simon y Barbero, artistic director of Mamapop, with the aim of raising funds that will go, in a finalist way, to the research project led by Dr. Serafín Morales of the Institute of Biomedical Research of Lleida. Mamapop has become the most important private initiative in Poniente in terms of economic contribution to research against breast cancer.
The last Mamapop concert took place in 2019
