Ilerdent renews its support to IRBLleida to carry out biomedical research
The dental clinic wishes to confirm its support for IRBLleida
The Ilerdent dental group in Lleida has renewed its collaboration agreement with the Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Lleida Dr. Pifarré Foundation. An already consolidated collaboration with which the dental clinic wishes to confirm its support for the IRBLleida because, as Miquel Gensana -manager of Ilerdent- explains, "we are confident that research will return to normal because we need to make a lot of progress in health".
The agreement, with a financial endowment for research projects developed by the IRBLleida in the field of biomedicine, includes agreements with dental treatment services, subsidised or free of charge, for the workers of the institute itself, as well as the Arnau de Vilanova (HUAV) and Santa Maria (HUSM) university hospitals and primary care professionals.
Regarding the delicate health situation caused by Covid-19, Gensana states that "it is having direct consequences on the oral health of the entire population and, in particular, for healthcare staff under great stress. At the clinic we detect new cases of bruxism (sawing teeth), sleep disturbances and episodes of apnoea and snoring every day. These situations are easily reversible with the right treatments. For this reason, we are giving a new boost to our 'Ilerdent Dental Health Collective Agreements' with new and improved services in the area of sleep and rest splints".
