The researcher Julie Pannequin presents its work about involvement of colorectal cancer stem cells in tumour recurrence in the IRBLleida
Pannequin is the director of the Signaling, Plasticity and Cancer group at the Institute of Functional Genomics in Montpellier
The researcher Julie Pannequin, director of the Signaling, Plasticity and Cancer group at the Institute of Functional Genomics in Montpellier, will present its work about involvement of colorectal cancer stem cells in tumour recurrence tomorrow, March 6th, at 12m. The session will take place in room 0.22 of the Annex Teaching Building, located in front of the Biomedicine building that houses the Biomedical Research Institute of Lleida (IRBLleida).
Julie Pannequin is the director of the Signaling, Plasticity and Cancer group at the Institute of Functional Genomics in Montpellier. Since cancer has been considered for ages as a disease of proliferation, identification of cancer stem cells has considerably changed this dogma. Cancer Stem Cells (CSC) represent a subpopulation of tumoural cells endowed with self-renewal, tumour initiation and resistance capacities. In the Pannequin group, they are focused on their signaling pathways and plasticity and they are studying more precisely their involvement in tumour recurrence in colorectal cancer.
