Olga Martín, the first Spanish International Academy of Food Science and Technology
Professor of ETSEA receive the credential next August in Dublin

Professor of Food Technology at the University of Lleida (UDL), Olga Martín Belloso, will become the first Spanish woman who became part of the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST). The delivery of credentials to the 30 new members of the organization in 2016 that will take place next August during the International Congress of IUFoST be held in Dublin (Ireland).
This international academy has about 200 members on five continents. Of these, only two are Spanish. In addition to the professor of the University of Lleida, the list also contained a researcher at the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology of the CSIC, based in Valencia. Fidel Toldrà was selected to enter the IUFoST 2008. Martin is thus the first State in scientific achieve.
Head of the Research Group of New Technologies for Food Processing UdL, also was elected last year as a member of the Institute of Food Technology of the United States (IFT). Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Olga Martin is a professor of the University of Lleida since 1992. His research focuses on the development of new food products safe and healthy through the application of new techniques, such as high intensity pulsed electric field . He is also Director of the Doctoral School of the University of Lleida.
The IUFoST promotes the development of science and food technology, international cooperation and information exchange among experts, and various training and improvement.
